LO2: Be able to initiate, plan and design a new interactive media product to a client brief
Purpose:
For this project I am going to create a website for a local radio show, which I created BDQ. This will be a digtial form of information which can also be listened to. This website will inform on the latest news and to advertise different companies throughout the show, whilst entertaining an audience in a digital way. The genre of the type of music shown on the website will be classic pop music, which is well known to my target audience. By producing this campaign it will give the opportunity for well known or small businesses to advertise/promote their company throughout the website to make people more aware of the business and hopefully will become more successful. Also, I am hoping to make my breakfast show website more entertaining than already existing website such as Capital. By doing this more people are more likely to visit the website, to explore different features throughout the site and listen to the breakfast show episodes. By doing this it will then grow my audience, making my radio breakfast show more known over the U.K (this will grow my identity), through advertising the show on a website.
Client needs:
The client BDQ requires a media product to enable them to better communicate with their various audiences. They need a site for current listeners to find out about the content which is on air. They also need a space where listeners can interact with what happens on the show. This will allow DJ's to interact with their audiences, meaning it will retain their listnership. The station owners of BDQ need to help maintain and sustain finances.
Target Audience:
My target audience will be mainstream and mainly aimed towards females, as people who listen to the the show will be listened when taking the children to school etc, but will also have a large male audience also of the ages 16-35 year olds, because the people who listen to BDQ will be a similar, if not the same audience as the people who will view the website. The psychographics of my website would be mainstreamers and aspires as these categories are aimed at younger people. This is aimed towards a local community as it will inform people about things such as road closures and latest gossip etc. This means that I will be competing with other local radio station websites such as BBC and Hallam FM. I will have to compete against a high number of over 600 different radio station websites, in the U.K. alone.
Budget:
The budget of creating my website would be £0. Therefore when creating my website I will borrow different equipment such as cameras for images on the website. To create the product itself I will use a computer from the college and will use the software dreamweaver which will already be installed in the computer, therefore not costing me anything to produce my website to a professional standard.
Pages:
- Home - when my audience click on the home page of my website I want them to see content on featured artists and latest news. I also want my audience to see that it is a bright and colourful radio show about popular songs, trends and gossip.
- Artists - on the artists page it will show gossip about artists nd their most popular and newly released songs.
- Blog - this page will show the radio stations latest updates such as the places they have been and different things which the presenters have done.
- Our DJ'S - this page will have content about the background of the different djs and there favourite hits and different places which they have performed.
- Schedule - timing of music and when different djs are on
- Road shows - this will have an interactive map of where the radio show has been
- Bloopers - this will have different clips from different series all about the different bloopers.
